The weather on 9_21_2009

Here are some pictures that I took on September 21th 2009.

The sunrise, I took this picture through our telescope.


Here is a picture of the afternoon thunderstorm. With winds up to 50MPH.

The pretty sunset. It was still raining when I took this picture.


And here is a picture of the lightning. I just love lighting :)

  4. where is the man who writes on here? : ( I've been sitting by my computer since September 21 waiting for him to post something.I'm becoming quite fat from all the treats I have stocked up.My owner says he will take me to the mental place if I sit here too much longer.Besides me is becoming rather tired of doggie treats.Bye bye ,

This particular storm was fairly strong for McMurdo (where it is relatively sheltered), but only 25 miles away at the Satellite Station we get the equivalent of a cat 1 hurricane once a week in winter, and a cat 3 about once a month. Last winter we had peak winds of 222mph, only 9mph lower than the world record wind speed.
